Starting as early as May, the Ada County Highway District (ACHD) will apply a slurry seal to select residential streets in the North End neighborhood, as well as on Wyndemere Drive and Sky Drive. Similar to a chip seal, the slurry seal helps protect and prolong the life of the pavement. Work consists of applying the slurry seal and the removal and reapplication of street striping and pavement markings.

The slurry will be done in phases to minimize impacts. A week prior to the work, residents will be notified via door knockers and message boards in the neighborhood. “No Parking” signs will be posted in construction areas at least 48 hours in advance of work.

Construction Impacts

  • You will not be able to drive on the slurry seal for 4 hours. If you will need to leave during the process, you are encouraged to park outside of the work zone.
  • Area motorists and other road users including residents, businesses, and adjacent schools may experience traffic delays when traveling through the project areas. Temporary traffic control and detours will be in place to minimize impacts.
  • Pay attention to flaggers directing traffic past active work locations.

Please note that the slurry seal material will stain driveways if driven on during the 4-hour curing process.

When

  • Anticipated Construction Duration
    • May 2025 - September 2025
  • Working Hours
    • 7 AM - 4 PM

The construction schedule is tentative and subject to change due to weather and other factors.

After the Work

  • The street surface will be pliable for several weeks and traffic may cause scuff marks. To help reduce marks, avoid turning your steering wheel while stopped.
  • The contractor will sweep to remove gravel/sand that breaks away from the road surface.
