2025 Pavement and Pedestrian Improvements: Overland Road and Discovery Way

This federally funded project will resurface, restore and rehabilitate the existing pavement and provide pedestrian improvements on Overland Road and Discovery Way.

Overland Road, Orchard Street to Vista Avenue

• Upgrade pedestrian ramps and driveways to meet modern standards.
• Replace traffic signals at Orchard Street, Roosevelt Street, Latah Street, Owyhee Street, and Shoshone Street to meet current APS standards.
• Construct all new curb, gutter and sidewalk.
  • Reduce motor vehicle travel lane widths to include wider sidewalks.
• Fill sidewalk gaps.
• Add bulb-outs to some wider side streets where they intersect with Overland to increase safety for pedestrians.
• Work includes the Orchard intersection, but not the Vista intersection.

Discovery Way, Bridger Street to Chinden Boulevard

• Upgrade pedestrian ramps and driveways to meet modern standards.
• Add a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) in front of the YMCA.
• Add a painted buffer to the existing bike lanes.
