The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) is designing pedestrian and bicyclist facilities for Avalon Street between Ash Avenue and School Avenue. The purpose of this project is to improve safety and increase connectivity for people who walk, bike, and roll.

Changes Includes

  • Constructing an asphalt pathway on the south side of Avalon Street from west of Ash Avenue to School Avenue
  • Installing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant pedestrian ramps at all intersection crossings
  • Filling the sidewalk gap on the west side of Ash Avenue
  • Paving driveways from the roadway to the property line for pathway durability

Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in 2028.
