43rd Street to Close Monday for
Pedestrian Signal Installation

GARDEN CITY — Beginning next week, 43rd Street will be closed on the southwest side of Chinden Boulevard for the installation of the new Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon (PHB). Commuters should use Ustick Road as a detour (see detour map).

The road will close Monday and is expected to reopen by June 25. Chinden Boulevard will remain open with two lanes in each direction.

The work is part of the Chinden Boulevard and 43rd Street Enhanced Crossing Project, which includes installing a Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon (PHB) and raised medians.
