The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) is considering painting bike lanes on streets in some Eagle neighborhoods this summer.

Streets under consideration include:

  • Nordic Drive, Palmer Lane to Luge Avenue
  • Signature/Champions Way, Floating Feather Road to Nordic Drive
  • Arena Avenue, Braveheart Street to Luge Avenue
  • Decathlon Street, Hamlin Avenue to Palmer Lane

Here’s why we’re proposing this change:

  • Improve bicycle connectivity: Help cyclists get around more easily and safely.
  • Provide an alternative to Floating Feather Road: Offer a more cyclist-friendly route with dedicated space for bicyclists.
  • Calm traffic and enhance safety: Painted bike lanes visually narrow the streets, which can encourage drivers to slow down.

    Thank you to all that took the survey about painting bike lanes in the neighborhood. We were able to gather enough data from the survey to determine that the neighborhood was not supportive of bike lanes on the proposed streets. For all segments, roughly three-quarters of respondents were opposed to striping bike lanes. As a result, ACHD will not be painting bike lanes in the neighborhood.
