Repair Update - August 8, 2025
Veolia crews and contractors have made great progress over the last week. The water main was excavated and exposed, over 25 feet below the roadway surface. Safety shoring of the hole walls was installed to ensure our work crews could work safely and effectively. A 20-foot section of the broken 16-inch water main was removed and a new piece installed. The installation was complex and required extensive planning across multiple departments within Veolia and in partnership with ACHD.
The infrastructure work continues through this weekend, to shore up and backfill the large hole, and then replace the roadway. Veolia appreciates the patience of our customers and the community with the detour and the extensive repairs that were critically necessary.
