The Locust Grove Road Concept has been finalized, with Alternative B selected as the final concept. Alternative B includes four travel lanes, a center turn lane for most of the corridor, 10-foot multi-use pathways on both sides of Locust Grove Road, and improved pedestrian crossings.

    What’s Next?

As the project moves into design, several key elements and additional considerations will be further evaluated and refined:

    • Access and Turn Lanes: Access to neighborhoods, businesses, and side streets will be reviewed, along with the length of turn lanes.
    • Landscaping and Property Impacts: ACHD will work with the City of Meridian to look at landscaping opportunities within the buffer, where possible. Landscaping will depend on utility and drainage needs. The project team will also look for ways to reduce impacts to nearby properties.
    • Locust Grove Road and Fairview Avenue Intersection: The design will tie into the planned intersection improvements and will provide a smooth transition between the two projects.

During design, additional analyses will help address specific issues and guide final adjustments to the plans.
