Starting as early as June, the Ada County Highway District (ACHD) will start construction on the 13th Street and Washington Street Pedestrian Crossing project. The purpose of this project is to improve safety and increase connectivity for pedestrians. Construction is expected to be complete by late summer 2026.*

Project Description

  • Install an enhanced pedestrian crossing at 13th Street and Washington Street
  • Improve pavement markings
  • Install a bulb-out on the northwest corner and reconstruct adjacent pedestrian ramps to meet current standards
  • Install updated storm drainage infrastructure to help manage rainwater

Construction Impacts

  • Temporary road closures
  • Pedestrian detours and sidewalk closures
  • Lane restrictions with flaggers
  • General construction noise, dust, equipment backup alarms and ground vibration
  • Crews will work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. unless otherwise approved
  • The contractor will work with property owners to minimize impacts
