    The ACHD Commissioners will consider possible adoption of the 8th Street Improvements Concept Design, Franklin to Union on February 22, 2023.

    The study team will be recommending the ACHD Commission move forward with adopting Concept A (modified) between Franklin and Union - Raised bike lanes on 8th Street in both directions with parallel parking on one side between Franklin and Union with one vehicular northbound travel lane.


    The meeting will begin at 6 p.m.; however, this project is one of several agenda items and may not be the first item discussed. ACHD staff will make a brief presentation followed by an opportunity for public comment before the Commission acts.

    How to participate

    There are several ways to participate in the meeting:

    • February 22, 2023 | 6 p.m.

      • In-person - Join us at 3775 Adams Street in the Auditorium.
      • Virtually - The meeting will be live-streamed and members of the public who wish to watch and ask questions can do so using Zoom. Meeting log in information can be found here.

    The 8th St Project was remanded back to staff for further evaluation. Update to the commission and additional public outreach will take place in August.

    The ACHD Commissioners considered possible adoption of the recommended Concept A on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. The ACHD Commission voted to postpone their decision until May. They will address the project again at the night meeting on May 25, 2022.
