The Ada County Highway District is designing a future roundabout for the Amity and Locust Grove intersection. The purpose of the project is to improve traffic flow and increase safety for all users.

Project Description

  • Construct a roundabout at the Amity and Locust Grove intersection.
    • Amity Road legs will feature two lanes entering and exiting the roundabout.
    • Locust Grove legs will feature one lane entering and exiting the roundabout.
  • Include a truck apron for larger vehicles to use if necessary.
  • Add street lighting.
  • Construct stormwater basins.
  • Add curb, gutter and buffered multi-use pathway.
  • Include crosswalks at each leg of the intersection with two-stage pedestrian crossings.
  • Install Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons at each pedestrian crossing to alert drivers to pedestrians.
  • Construct a temporary asphalt pathway with a vertical element from the end of multi-use pathway to Mary McPherson Elementary School. The vertical element will be determined at a later date.
  • Construction is planned for 2025.
