Amity Road, Five Mile Road to Maple Grove Road & Amity and Five Mile Roundabout

The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) is designing improvements for Amity Road, Five Mile Road to Maple Grove Road and a roundabout at the Amity Road and Five Mile Road intersection. The purpose of the project is to increase motorist, pedestrian, and bicyclist safety, as well as, improve current and future traffic flow.

Amity, Five Mile to Maple Grove

• Widen Amity Road from Five Mile Road to Maple Grove Road to one lane in each direction with a continuous center turn lane and medians where appropriate.
• Construct a buffered, multi-use pathway on each side of Amity Road for bicyclists and pedestrians.
• Install a Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon at Amity Elementary School.

Amity and Five Mile Roundabout

• Construct a multi-lane roundabout at the Amity and Five Mile intersection.
• Add curb, gutter, and a detached multi-use pathway.
• Install Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons at each pedestrian crossing to alert drivers to pedestrians.
• Construct crosswalks at each leg of the intersection with two-stage pedestrian crossings.
• Add a truck apron for larger vehicles to use if necessary.
