Project Update- February 14, 2024

The Eagle Road, Lake Hazel to Amity Road project has been delayed until fall of 2024 due to a licensing issue which resulted in an unresponsive and void construction bid and contract.

In December, ACHD awarded the bid for the project, with construction scheduled to begin in February. However, before construction began, it was discovered that a designated electrical subcontractor associated with the project was improperly licensed when the contractor accepted the subcontractor’s bid and when the contractor named the subcontractor in its bid to ACHD. This statutory violation caused the contractor’s bid to be unresponsive and void, and therefore the contract between ACHD and the contractor, to be void.

On Wednesday, February 14, the ACHD Board of Commissioners voted to re-bid the project, which will happen in the coming months. A new construction start date will be announced after the project’s new bid is awarded.
