The Ada County Highway District Board of Commissioners has officially adopted the 2027–2031 Five Year Plan, outlining key transportation projects expected across Ada County over the next five years.

The Plan was approved following a public hearing at Wednesday's Commission meeting by a 5-0 vote.

The Five Year Plan serves as ACHD’s short term capital project plan, detailing strategies, projects, and priorities for roadway and intersection improvements, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, bridge replacements and repairs, and maintenance work throughout Ada County. Updated annually, the plan allows elected officials, staff, partner agencies, and the public to collaborate effectively on upcoming transportation investments.

“The Five Year Plan reflects the tremendous amount of work that goes into maintaining and improving our transportation system,” said ACHD Commission President Miranda Gold. “I appreciate the team's diligence in outlining a plan that will meet the needs of all users across Ada County."

The adopted 2027-2031 Plan includes 285 projects with a total budget of $1.21 billion. The first two years align with ACHD’s approved fiscal year 2027 budget, while the remaining three years anticipate future needs. ACHD operates on a fiscal year beginning in October.

Development of the 2027-2031 Plan began in January 2026. ACHD received more than 1200 public comments through several rounds of outreach, as well as feedback from partner agencies.
