This project is substantially complete
Starting as early as June, the Ada County Highway District (ACHD) will start construction on the Gary Lane and Elm Brook Drive Enhanced Pedestrian Crossing. The purpose of this project is to improve safety near Riverglen Junior High School. Construction is expected to be completed in early August of 2024.*
Project Description
- Install a rectangular rapid flashing beacon (RRFB) across Gary Lane at Elm Brook Drive
- Add bulb-outs on Elm Brook Drive to improve safety
- Reconstruct adjacent pedestrian ramps to meet modern standards
*Due to high demand for contractors, labor and supplies, the construction schedules may change.
Construction Impacts
- Temporary road closures
- Pedestrian detours and sidewalk closures
- Lane restrictions with flaggers
- General construction noise, dust, equipment backup alarms and ground vibration
- Crews will work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. unless otherwise approved
- The contractor will work with property owners to minimize impacts
