Liberty Street - Project Delayed
The Ada County Highway District is terminating its contract with the current Liberty Street project contractor due to the contractor's inability to meet ACHD's standards.
What this means: The work between Douglas and Denton streets will not be completed this fall as originally planned. Over the next several weeks, ACHD is working to plan next steps, with our biggest priority being re-paving and reopening the road before winter weather hits.
Next steps: ACHD is working with the contractor’s bonding company to determine how to finish the project and minimize further disruption. ACHD expects to resume the project next spring with a new contractor. The remaining Liberty Street work is currently expected to be completed next summer, which includes finishing the roadway and completing sidewalks on the west side of the roadway.
Upcoming Projects Nearby: Our goal is to coordinate work on Liberty Street with the upcoming Allumbaugh Street project between Franklin Road and Douglas Street to maximize efficiency and minimize additional disruption to the area as much as possible.
This is one of two upcoming projects on Allumbaugh Street. Work between Franklin Road and Douglas Street will move forward as planned and is expected to begin in early December. The separate, federally funded project between Douglas Street and Fairmont Street is expected to begin in the spring.
We apologize for the inconvenience and project delay. For further questions, please reach out at achdidaho.org/connect.
