The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) is designing future improvements for Linder Avenue, Swan Falls Road to 2nd Street and Avalon Street, Swan Falls Road to Orchard Avenue. The purpose of this project is to improve safety and increase connectivity for bicyclists and pedestrians.

Project Description

  • Reconstruct and widen Linder Avenue/E Avalon Street from 2nd Street to Orchard Avenue to one lane in each direction with a continuous center turn lane.
  • Construct a 10-foot-wide buffered multi-use pathway with curb and gutter along the north/east side of the street between 2nd Street and Orchard Avenue.
  • Install a 5-foot landscaped buffer between the roadway and the pathway, consisting of wood mulch.
  • Minor roadway widening to the south to develop a 5-foot shoulder.
  • Upgrade stormwater facilities and install bioretention planters to capture runoff and reduce flooding.
  • Upgrade pedestrian ramps to meet modern ADA standards.
