Phase 2 Construction to Start this Summer

The Ada County Highway District (ACHD), in coordination with the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) and the City of Meridian, is starting Phase 2 of the Linder Road Overpass and Roadway Project as early as June 2026. Work is expected to be complete in late 2027.*

*Schedule subject to change.

Project Description

  • Construct a new 4-lane overpass spanning Interstate 84.
  • Widen Linder Road, between Franklin Road and new overpass to two lanes in each direction with a center turn lane.
  • Extend Linder Road, from Overland Road to new overpass.
  • Add multi-use pathways for pedestrians and bicyclists.

Construction Impacts

  • Lane Restrictions: Linder Road may have a reduced number of travel lanes occasionally, but flaggers will be present.
  • Utility Work: Substantial utility work is planned for this project and may include water, power and communications, and gas.
  • Pedestrians and Bike Route Detours: Detours will be in place to keep pedestrians and bicyclists moving safely.
  • Construction Activity: Expect general construction noise, including equipment backup alarms, dust and ground vibration.
  • Property Owner Access: Access to businesses and homes will stay open. The contractor will work with property owners to keep entrances clear or provide alternate accesses.
