Since 2021 the Ada County Highway District (ACHD) has been working on designing improvements to Maple Grove Road between Amity Road and Victory Road. Based on public input, ACHD selected the 5-Lane Alternative as the preferred alternative.

Proposed Improvements

  • Two travel lanes in each direction with a center turn lane
  • A 10-foot-wide buffered multi-use pathway on both sides of Maple Grove Road for bicyclists and pedestrians to share
  • Improved crossings along the corridor and a new crosswalk with a Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon between Lyle Street and Aquarius Street
  • New bridges over the Knudsen Lateral and Ten Mile Feeder canals
  • A roundabout at the Maple Grove Road and Amity Road intersection

    In early 2022 ACHD sought feedback on proposed alternatives for Maple Grove Road from Amity to Victory.


    Preliminary alternatives considered widening Maple Grove Road to include:

    • 3-lane (one lane in each direction with a center turn lane), OR
    • 5-lane (two lanes in each direction with a center turn lane), OR
    • 4-lane (two lanes in each direction with a continuous center median and roundabouts at key intersections)


    All alternatives featured:

    • Separated bicycle and pedestrian pathways on both sides with improved crossings at key intersections
    • A roundabout at the Maple Grove Road/Amity Road intersection
    • New wider bridges over the Knudsen Lateral and Tenmile Feeder canals

    ACHD hosted the Southwest Mobility online public outreach event from August to September 2021 to collect feedback regarding current and future transportation needs in Ada County's southwest region. The responses helped inform the alternatives being proposed for Maple Grove Road.
