This project is substantially complete.

The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) will be constructing improvements to the Orchard and Franklin intersection starting as early as mid-April 2024*. Work is expected to be complete September 2024.

Project Description

  • Replace traffic signals at Orchard and Franklin.
  • Install Accessible Pedestrian Signals (APS) and push buttons.
    • These devices communicate information about the WALK and DON’T WALK intervals at signalized intersections in non-visual formats (i.e., audible tones and vibrating surfaces) to pedestrians who are blind or have low vision.
  • Update pedestrian ramps to modern standards.

*Due to contractor staffing issues and supply-chain shortages, the construction schedule could change.
