Star Road, Chinden Boulevard to State Street

We are developing plans to widen and improve Star Road between State Street (SH-44) and Chinden Boulevard (US-20/26). Due to the growing population of the surrounding area, improvements on Star Road are needed to increase capacity, mobility and safety for motorists. New multi-use pathways will also provide safer accommodations for pedestrians and bicyclists.

Features

• Widen Star Road to five lanes
• Add multi-use pathways to both sides of Star Road
• Replace the Boise River Bridge
• Replace bridges over several canals
• Build infrastructure for a future traffic signal at the intersection of Star and Joplin roads
• Install a Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon (PHB) between Main Street and Hercules Drive
