ACHD is working with the City of Boise, Capital City Development Corporation, and Valley Regional Transit to improve safety on State Street, especially for people crossing State Street while staying in the existing public right-of-way. When completed, the project will:

  • Improve how State Street works for all people using it
  • Improve safety for people crossing State Street
  • Be in line with ACHD goals and standards
  • Rehab existing pavement and drainage issues
  • Work with the upcoming redevelopment of the area, such as the YMCA / Block 68 Redevelopment Project

    The ACHD Commission adopted the State Street Concept Design on July 24, 2024, choosing to move forward with Concept B(1) - 3 lanes with Shared-Use Paths.

    The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) will consider adopting one of the three concepts proposed for State Street, 8th Street to 14th Street on July 24, 2024 at 6 p.m.

    If you would like to provide input one more time on which concept you prefer, please plan on attending the Commission meeting.

    The meeting will begin at 6 p.m.; however, this project is one of several agenda items and may not be the first item discussed. ACHD staff will make a brief presentation followed by an opportunity for public comment before the Commission acts.

    • Join us at 3775 Adams Street in Garden City in the Auditorium.

    Virtually

    • Participate online. The Meeting will be live-streamed and members of the public who wish to watch and ask questions can do so using Zoom.
