As part of the Ada County Highway District’s (ACHD) Bridge Preventative Maintenance Program, this project will include deck maintenance on the Vista Avenue structure over the New York Canal. The work is essential to ensure the bridge continues to meet quality and safety standards, providing a smoother and more durable driving surface for all users.
What to Expect During Construction (Spring 2026):
Lane restrictions with flaggers
Pedestrian detours and sidewalk closures
Access maintained for residents and adjacent property owners
General construction noise, dust, equipment backup alarms, and ground vibration
Work hours: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. unless otherwise approved
*Construction schedules may change due to high demand for contractors, labor, and supplies.

Beginning Wednesday, April 1st, there will be lane restrictions on Vista Avenue between Elder Street and Canal Street (north of I-84) for bridge maintenance work. The road will remain open with at least one lane in each direction, but drivers may see some delays though the work area.
