The Ada County Highway District is making plans to upgrade several Garden City streets. These projects will improve deteriorating pavement and provide better walking and biking routes, making it easier for neighbors to access schools, jobs, shopping and public transportation.

Streets in the Project

  • Ustick Rd, Esquire Dr to 43rd St
  • 43rd St, Ustick Rd to Greenbelt
  • 50th St, Chinden Blvd to Bradley St
  • 40th St, south end to Greenbelt
  • 38th St, south end to Adams St

Project Features

  • Adding and replacing sidewalks and driveway approaches
  • Improving Greenbelt access
  • Repaving streets
  • Adding bike lanes on 43rd between Ustick and Chinden
  • Adding signalized pedestrian crossings at 38th/Chinden and Ustick/43rd
  • Upgrading the signal at 50th/Chinden

    Thank you to everyone who reviewed the design plans for streets in Garden City (38thStreet/40th Street/43rdStreet/50th Street/Ustick Road) or joined us at the public open house at the Boys & Girls Club in May!

    Nearly 200 people participated in our online and in-person public meetings this spring and we appreciate the many thoughtful comments shared by the community. Take a quick look at the key themes we heard from neighbors.

    What’s next?

    In the coming months, the project team will continue environmental work and begin preliminary design. Your feedback will help guide these efforts.

    ACHD will share final design plans with the community next year.
