In November, the Ada County Highway District (ACHD) will begin construction on Liberty Street between Denton Street and Douglas Street. The project includes pavement maintenance as well as safety and connectivity improvements for bicyclists and pedestrians. Work is expected to be complete in fall 2026.*

Project Description

  • Perform pavement maintenance to improve roadway conditions on Liberty Street from Douglas to Denton.
  • Construct curb, gutter, and a multi-use pathway on the east side of Liberty Street from Douglas to Denton.
  • Add sidewalk on the west side of Liberty Street from Douglas to Denton.
  • On-street parking will remain on the west side.
  • Add new pedestrian ramps and bikeway signage where necessary.

Construction Impacts

  • Road closures are expected during construction
  • Traffic lanes will shift as work progresses
  • On-street parking will be reduced during construction
  • Lane restrictions with flaggers will help direct traffic
  • Expect general construction noise, dust, equipment backup alarms and ground vibration
  • Crews will work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. unless otherwise approved
  • The contractor will work with property owners to minimize impacts and maintain access
