This project is substantially complete.
Starting as early as July, the Ada County Highway District (ACHD) will start construction on the Star Middle School Pedestrian Crossings. The purpose of this project is to improve safety near Star Middle School and increase connectivity for pedestrians. Construction is expected to be completed in late summer of 2024.*
Project Description
- Install a pedestrian hybrid beacon (PHB) at Pollard Lane and Pickett Creek Street
- Install a pedestrian hybrid beacon (PHB) at Floating Feather Road and Plummer Road
- Upgrade adjacent pedestrian ramps to meet modern standards
*Due to high demand for contractors, labor and supplies, the construction schedules may change.
Construction Impacts
- Temporary road closures
- Pedestrian detours and sidewalk closures
- Lane restrictions with flaggers
- General construction noise, dust, equipment backup alarms and ground vibration
- Crews will work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. unless otherwise approved
- The contractor will work with property owners to minimize impacts
