The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) will be repaving or reconstructing several streets in Meridian as part of a locally funded project to improve pavement conditions and upgrade the streets for all users.

Work could include

  • Filling in sidewalk gaps and replacing deteriorated sidewalk to improve connectivity
  • Adding bulb-outs and narrowing travel lanes where appropriate to improve safety
  • Upgrading and/or installing pedestrian ramps to meet modern standards and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
  • Adding crosswalk markings for school walk route crossings
  • Stormwater and irrigation upgrades to improve flows

    Based on public input and further technical review, the team has made a few changes to the project design.

    The improvements now include

    • Filling in sidewalk gaps and replacing deteriorated sidewalk to improve connectivity
    • Adding bulb-outs and narrowing travel lanes where appropriate to improve safety
    • Upgrading and/or installing pedestrian ramps to meet modern standards and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
    • Adding crosswalk markings for school walk route crossings (new)
    • Stormwater and irrigation upgrades to improve flows

    • West 2nd Street, Camelia Avenue to Cherry Lane
    • West 3rd Street, Pine Avenue to the North End
    • West 4th Street, Broadway Avenue to Maple Avenue
    • Broadway Avenue, East 3rd Street to East 6th Street
    • Cherry Avenue, West 4th Street to Meridian Road
    • Idaho Avenue, West 8th Street to Meridian Road
    • Maple Avenue, West 1st Street to Meridian Road
    • East 2nd Street, Idaho Avenue to Pine Avenue (new)
    • East 4th Street, Idaho Avenue to State Avenue (new)
