The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) will be rehabilitating segments of Washington Street, West 6th Street, and West 7th Street as part of a locally funded project to improve pavement conditions and upgrade the streets for all users.

Work could include

  • Filling in sidewalk gaps to improve connectivity
  • Adding bulb-outs and narrowing travel lanes where appropriate to improve safety
  • Upgrading and/or installing pedestrian ramps to meet modern standards and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
  • Adding crosswalk markings for school walk route crossings
  • Stormwater and irrigation upgrades to improve flows

    Based on public input and further technical review, the team has made a few changes to the project design.

    The improvements now include

    • Filling in sidewalk gaps to improve connectivity

    • West 6th Street, West Carlton Avenue to West Washington Street
    • West 7th Street, Washington Street to the pathway South of McFadden Avenue (new)
