This project is substantially complete.
The Ada County Highway District will start construction on the 2021 Residential Capital Maintenance Project in early May. This pavement maintenance project primarily consists of removing and replacing all or a portion of the existing asphalt pavement (depending on the street segment). Work also includes reconstructing adjacent curb ramps to meet modern standards and minor stormwater pipe replacements in downtown Meridian. Construction is anticipated to be complete fall of 2022.
Streets to be reconstructed:
2nd Street, Idaho Avenue to Carlton Avenue
4th Street, Broadway Avenue to State Avenue
4th Street, Washington Avenue to North End
5th Avenue, State Avenue to North End
5th Avenue, Franklin Road to Bower Street
Bower Street, 2nd Street to East End
State Avenue, 2nd Street to Cathy Lane
Washington Avenue, 4th Street to Cathy Lane
Construction impacts:
Temporary on-street parking impacts
Lane restrictions
Temporary closures
Crews will work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. unless otherwise approved
The contractor will work with property owners to minimize impacts
General construction noise, dust, equipment backup alarms, and ground vibration
Commuters are reminded to obey all road closure signs and follow the signs along the detour route. Commuters should never attempt to drive, bike, or walk on closed portions of the road, regardless of whether there appears to be active construction. It is unlawful to move or manipulate construction signs and doing so can put commuters and construction workers at great risk.
