The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) is designing a future roundabout for the Lake Hazel & Maple Grove intersection. The purpose of the project is to improve traffic flow and increase safety for all users.

Project Description

  • Construct a multi-lane roundabout at the Lake Hazel and Maple Grove intersection
  • Add curb, gutter, and a detached 10-foot wide multi-use pathway
  • Construct crosswalks at each leg of the intersection with two-stage pedestrian crossings
  • Install rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFBs) at each pedestrian crosswalk
  • Add a truck apron for larger vehicles to use if necessary

    The Ada County Highway District will start construction on the Lake Hazel Road and Maple Grove Road roundabout project in October 2023.* Construction is anticipated to be complete summer 2024.

    Construction Impacts

    • Temporary road closures
    • Lane restrictions with flaggers
    • General construction noise, dust, equipment backup alarms and ground vibration
    • Crews will work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. unless otherwise approved
    • The contractor will work with property owners to minimize construction impacts
