The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) is designing future improvements for the State Street and Pierce Park Lane Intersection. This project aims to improve safety and connectivity for all users, accommodate future traffic volumes, and incorporate ideas and concerns gathered from the public.

The improvements for State Street and Pierce Park Lane include:

  • Realigning Pierce Park Lane to improve safety and provide better line of sight for drivers
  • Widening State Street within the project limits and add medians where necessary for safety
  • Providing U-turns at multiple locations
  • Adding continuous multi-use pathways for pedestrians and cyclists
  • Adding additional crosswalk on State Street

    • Eastbound traffic was shifted onto the new pavement in the middle of State Street on the night of May 21st.
    • The work zone is currently on the south side of State Street.
    • Left turns have been eliminated through the work zone.
    • Work on Pierce Park Lane is mostly complete.
    • Asphalt removal is complete on the south side of State Street.
    • Garden City water line installation is complete and being tested.
    • Utility relocation work by Lumen complete.
    • Contractor working on stormwater facilities.
    • Placement of base gravels is anticipated to start the week of August 3rd.
