This project is substantially complete.
The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) will begin construction on University Drive in late May. The purpose of this project is to enhance safety and increase connectivity for pedestrians. Construction is expected to be completed in late summer of 2024.*
Project Description
Brady Street and University Drive
- Upgrade the traffic signal
- Install a pedestrian scramble at the Brady Street and University Drive intersection
- The pedestrian scramble will be similar to the existing scramble at Lincoln Avenue and University Drive
- Upgrade pedestrian ramps to meet modern standards
Chrisway Drive and University Drive
- Upgrade the pedestrian hybrid beacon (PHB)
- Add intersection lighting to improve safety
- Upgrade pedestrian ramps to meet modern standards
Juanita Street and University Drive
- Upgrade the pedestrian hybrid beacon (PHB)
- Upgrade pedestrian ramps to meet modern standards
- Add intersection lighting to improve safety
Construction Impacts
- Pedestrian detours and sidewalk closures
- Lane restrictions with flaggers
- General construction noise, dust, equipment backup alarms and ground vibration
- Crews will work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. unless otherwise approved
- The contractor will work with property owners to minimize impacts
