As part of the Ada County Highway District’s (ACHD) Bridge Preventative Maintenance Program, ACHD will perform routine maintenance on the Boise Avenue bridge (formerly Healey Road) over the New York Canal.

This planned work includes preventative deck maintenance to extend the life of the structure and ensure it remains safe and reliable. The improvements will help maintain a smooth, durable driving surface for all users.

Construction Impacts

  • Lane restrictions
  • General construction noise, dust, equipment backup alarms, and ground vibration
  • Crews will work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. unless otherwise approved

Construction schedules may change due to high demand for contractors, labor, and supplies.

Work begins this week on the Boise Avenue Bridge (formerly Healey Road).

During the first phase of the project, crews will primarily work underneath the bridge. Some equipment will be staged on the bridge during daytime work hours, which will require a lane closure.

While crews are working, a temporary signal will direct traffic across the bridge. Outside of working hours, the signal will be placed in flash mode and all lanes will reopen to traffic.

Delays are expected to be minimal through this phase of work, but drivers should use caution in the area and allow extra space for crews to work.

Crews will work daily, including weekends, to complete the necessary work beneath the bridge before mid-March.

Work on this project is expected to be completed later this spring.
