Ustick, Black Cat to Ten Mile Project Begins November 11

ADA COUNTY — Beginning November 11th, work will begin on the Ustick Road, Black Cat to Ten Mile Road project.

Black Cat Road will be closed between Ustick Road and Moon Lake Drive. Only local traffic will be allowed on Black Cat between Ustick and Cherry Lane. Drivers should use McDermott Road or Ten Mile Road down to Cherry Lane to get around the closure. (see detour map)

Ustick Road will remain open in both directions, but drivers can expect lane restrictions and flaggers directing traffic during the day.

Additional traffic calming will be implemented on residential streets near the intersection. Drivers are reminded to follow the posted detour routes to get around the closure.

During the work, sidewalks on the south side of Ustick Road will be closed. Pedestrians should head south on North Streetwood Avenue (on the west side of Back Cat) or West Niemann Drive (east side of Black Cat), and follow the detour route around the sidewalk closures (see pedestrian detour map).

The Ustick, Black Cat to Ten Mile Project includes widening Ustick Road to two lanes in each direction, widening the Ustick-Black Cat intersection to include additional through lanes and dedicated right and left turn lanes, among other improvements. Residents can learn more and sign up for project updates on this project page.
