The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) will be reconstructing Ustick Road between Black Cat Road and Ten Mile Road. The purpose of this project is to improve traffic flow and increase safety for all users.

Ustick, Black Cat to Ten Mile

  • Widen Ustick Road to two lanes in each direction, with center turn lanes or center medians at key locations.
  • Construct curb, gutter, and a 10-foot-wide multi-use pathway with a safety buffer on both sides of the roadway for pedestrian and bicyclists.
  • Add a traffic signal at Naomi Avenue.
  • Install an enhanced pedestrian crossing across Ustick Road at the Nine Mile Pathway.
  • Upgrade stormwater facilities and replace irrigation pipes.

Ustick and Black Cat Intersection

  • Widen the Ustick Road and Black Cat Road intersection to include additional through lanes.
  • Add dedicated right and left turn lanes on all approaches.
  • Install curb, gutter, and multi-use pathways.

    • Asphalt paving along Ustick complete and nearly all lanes have been marked.
    • Ustick and Black Cat signal swap to final configuration was completed this week.
    • City of Meridian sewer and water line installation is complete. Water Control Vault commissioning work has started.
    • Final remaining sections of concrete median islands, curb and gutter/sidewalk, along the eastern portion of Ustick, starting soon – prepped and waiting for better weather to place.
