The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) is widening Ustick Road, Ten Mile Road to Linder Road. The purpose of this project is to improve traffic flow and increase safety for all users. Work is expected to be complete in late 2026.*

Project Description

  • Widen Ustick Road, Ten Mile to Linder, to two travel lanes in each direction with a continuous center turn lane.
  • Raised medians will be located within the center lane in areas where they do not restrict access from public streets and/or driveways.
  • Construct a 10-foot, multi-use pathway on the north and south sides of Ustick Road.
  • Install a traffic signal at the intersection of Ustick Road and Towerbridge Way.
  • Construct a new pedestrian bridge crossing over Five Mile Creek to provide a connection with the multi-use pathway.
  • The multi-use pathway will transition to bike lanes and attached sidewalks at the Ustick Road and Ten Mile Road intersection.

Traffic and Construction Impacts

  • Road closures are expected during construction
  • Lane restrictions with flaggers
  • General construction noise, dust, equipment backup alarms and ground vibration
  • Crews will work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. unless otherwise approved
  • The contractor will work with property owners to minimize impacts and maintain access

    • Ustick Road closure started December 1st o Message boards, traffic calming throughout the adjacent neighborhoods, etc. have been installed.
    • Roadway milling/removal has started on Ustick.
    • Contractor is staging and preparing for the dewatering operation of Five Mile Creek.
    • Contractor is staging a preparing for the City of Meridian sewer bypass.

    Beginning Monday, Ustick Road will close between Ten Mile Road and Linder Road as work begins on ACHD’s Ustick Road, Ten Mile to Linder project.

    During the closure, commuters should use McMillan Road to the north or Cherry Lane to the south to get around the closure (see detour map). Local access will be maintained for residents along the corridor.

    The closure is expected to last until summer 2026.

    The work is part of ACHD's Ustick, Ten Mile to Linder project. Once complete, Ustick Road will be widened to five travel lanes, and a new traffic signal will be installed at Ustick Road and Towerbridge Way. The project also includes constructing ten-foot multi-use pathways on either side of Ustick Road, along with other improvements.
