The Ada County Highway District will be reconstructing Eagle Road between Lake Hazel and Amity. The purpose of this project is to improve traffic flow and increase safety for all users.

Roadway Description

  • Widen Eagle Road from Lake Hazel Road to Amity Road to two lanes in each direction with a center turn lane and center medians to calm traffic.
  • Construct a multi-lane roundabout at the intersection of Eagle Road and Taconic Drive.
  • Add a multi-use pathway on each side of Eagle Road and at the Lake Hazel intersection for bicyclists and pedestrians.

Eagle and Lake Hazel Intersection Description

  • Widen and signalize the Lake Hazel and Eagle intersection
  • Add dual left-turn lanes on most approaches
  • Include additional thru lanes
  • Add dedicated right turn lanes on two approaches
  • Install a multi-use pathway for bicyclists and pedestrians
  • Include painted crosswalks

    The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) will be constructing improvements to Eagle Road, Lake Hazel to Amity starting as early as mid-January*. Work is expected to be complete by Spring 2025.

    Traffic and Construction Impacts

    • Short-term road closures
    • Eagle and Lake Hazel intersection closure for several months
    • Lane restrictions with flaggers
    • General construction noise, dust, equipment backup alarms and ground vibration
    • Crews may work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. unless otherwise approved
    • The contractor will work with property owners to minimize construction impacts and maintain access

    *Due to contractor staffing issues and supply-chain shortages, the construction schedule could change.
