The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) is designing future improvements for the State Street and Pierce Park Lane Intersection. This project aims to improve safety and connectivity for all users, accommodate future traffic volumes, and incorporate ideas and concerns gathered from the public.

The improvements for State Street and Pierce Park Lane include:

  • Realigning Pierce Park Lane to improve safety and provide better line of sight for drivers
  • Widening State Street within the project limits and add medians where necessary for safety
  • Providing U-turns at multiple locations
  • Adding continuous multi-use pathways for pedestrians and cyclists
  • Adding additional crosswalk on State Street

    • Mainline asphalt paving is complete.
    • Permanent striping and concrete island construction is scheduled for October.
    • The left-turn lane at Pierce Park is anticipated to re-open by the end of October.
    • Minor work will continue into November, including swale construction, landscape repair, etc.

    • Westbound traffic is on the north side of State Street. Eastbound traffic was shifted onto the new pavement in the middle of State Street on the night of May 21st. The work zone is currently on the south side of State Street.
