The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) is designing future improvements for Linder Road between State Highway 44 and Floating Feather to improve traffic flow and increase safety for all users.

Proposed improvements include:

Roadway

  • Widening Linder Road to two lanes in each direction, with a center turn lane.
  • Adding landscaped medians where appropriate.
  • Constructing curb, gutter and a multi-use pathway on both sides of the roadway for pedestrians and bicyclists.
  • Retaining the existing signalized pedestrian crossing at Saguaro Dr.
  • Constructing bioretention swales to manage roadway drainage.
  • Reconstructing two separate bridges on Linder.

Linder and Floating Feather Intersection

  • Constructing a multi—lane roundabout at the Linder and Floating Feather intersection.
    • The west and south legs will feature two lanes approaching the roundabout, the left lane for thru traffic and left turns, the right lane for right turns only.
  • Adding curb, gutter and a detached multi-use pathway with bike ramps.
  • Adding crosswalks at each leg of the intersection with two-stage pedestrian crossings and Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs).
  • A truck apron for larger vehicles to use if necessary.
  • Constructing a stormwater basin to manage water drainage from the intersection.
